Virtual Networking for Real Efficiency

The transportation electronics conference, Convergence 2008, in Detroit’s Cobo Center focuses on "Vehicle Electronics Converging on Real Customer Needs". This guiding principle refers to final products in the vehicle as well as to the development approach of new systems and components. This point is addressed by the MBtech Group with its services concept PROVEtech:ViT presented in the USA for the first time. "ViT" means "Virtual Testing", i.e. the virtual HiL test center, which combines the necessary test technologies with worldwide distributed test center concepts for OEMs and suppliers.

Since car manufacturers, suppliers and engineering service providers cooperate more and more in global networks, the project-related teamwork along with the product development process often requires high expenditure of time and extensive traveling. Particularly for testing of complex systems, the required equipment and skilled experts from the different parties usually have to meet at one location. This not only increases costs but also binds valuable capacities. In MBtech’s virtual HiL test center, all project partners meet online. A close cooperation is enabled despite long distances. The expert capacities are applicable in several projects at the same time. The software is based on PROVEtech: TA, the MBtech tool suite for test automation with its own work page, the test manager, as well as error simulation and diagnosis. In order to ensure the security and safety of sensitive data, a protected IT and network infrastructure with the appropriate authorization concepts are presupposed. PROVEtech: ViT supports development projects in the automotive electronics area at arbitrary locations - around the clock and around the world.
