"Lean Manufacturing in the automotive industry" discussion at the Karlsruhe (TH) elite university.
On the 22nd of November 2006 an interactive lecture on "Lean Manufacturing" was held at the Faculty of Economic Sciences.
Approximately 40 industrial engineers engaged in a lively discussion with Dr. Dirk Geisinger (Principal, MBtech Consulting GmbH) regarding the "Case for Action" in the automotive industry, production systems and the implementation status for automotive practices. The discussion was organized by the "Lean Management" university group.
The University of Karlsruhe prevailed in the finale of the Excellence Initiiative and has now become one of Germany's three elite universities. The Karlsruhe industrial engineers regularly take first place in the university rankings in job and career business magazines such as "karriere" (June 2006) or the university ranking in "Wirtschaftswoche" No. 11 from March 2006.
